Mississippi Sheiks This influential duo consisted of Walter Vincson on acoustic guitar and vocals and Lonnie Chatmon on fiddle and vocals. The Mississippi Sheiks' fluctuating lineup primarily featured the Chatmon family, who came from Bolton, Mississippi and were well known throughout the Mississippi Delta. Their initial inspiration had been gained from their father, Ezol Chatman (uncle of Charley Patton), a "musicioner" during the era of black slavery.
